Central Management is the core of the POSitive Cinema integrated system. It is based on automated data flows between the headquarters and individual cinemas, which facilitates the management of each cinema’s daily operations.

Flexible definition of almost all data can be done once and then instantly propagated throughout the whole chain, enforcing standards and reducing mistakes that can occur with definitions of duplicate concessions item or multiple ticket types.

Headquarter Management gathers information on all key processes and in all locations including sales, stock and delivery documents, time attendance records, etc. In addition, there is an in-depth analysis tools which enables you to remotely view operations of each cinema separately. The system can be also customised with data and procedures that could be in used across all of your sites.

The analytics module is responsible for processing all of the data that flows into the headquarters, from all cinemas. Examples of data include time and attendance in particular locations, ticket sales by price category, screenings, dates, sites, sales channels, concessions sales, loyalty schemes implementation, special event results, and much more.

Tailored reports may be saved in a non-editable format and sent out to selected people. For instance, from a sales report you can extract several cashier reports and send them to individual employees.

Defining recipients for reports allows you to automatically send results directly to distributors, the executive board or the staff responsible for analysing data without the need for manual intervention.

For the convenience of the people responsible for analyses, reports are also available on Internet enabled mobile devices.

Content and Scheduling

Content & Scheduling means:

Content & Scheduling allows seamless yet advanced planning for every cinema within your circuit, conveniently from the Head Office. With only one main user-friendly panel you determine which movie is to be showed in which cinema and in which auditorium.

Creating showtime schedules is easier and faster, because the software has logic to check and validate the schedule real time, preconditions based on certain parameters such as:

  • Validates which trailers may be viewed before a movie and highlights those that may be not, according to an agreement with a distributor
  • Ensure technical breaks are long enough between shows to allow for proper cleaning
  • Prevents scheduling a movie if the auditorium is booked for a private session
  • Prevents scheduling a 3d movie in a 2d hall
  • Adjusts the film start time to match standard cinema times (e.g. full 5-minute periods)
  • Checks if a movie is schedule in different screens but at the same time
  • Prevents scheduling a movie in a screen before the existing movie ends

The software indicates which trailers may be viewed before the film and highlights those that may be not in line with the agreement with a particular distributor. It also takes into account technical breaks, which it enters into schedules. It prevents scheduling a film if the auditorium is booked for a private session. It adjusts the film start time to match standard cinema times (e.g. full 5-minute periods).

TMS Automation acts as an intermediary, working in the background to bring together the modules of Content & Scheduling and Campaigns, with the Theatre Management System (TMS).

Typically, TMS Automation is only a partial solution, as it does not have bi-directional communication with the central Scheduling module and it does not include the TMS specific instructions required for the hardware, in order to show the movie.

With POSitive Cinema’s TMS Automation, the communication channel is bi-directional, so for each change in Content & Scheduling (even slight adjustment such as film duration) and/or Campaigns you only need one click to update the TMS. Also, POSitive Cinema’s TMS Automation Module creates and send a TMS-ready playlist to the TMS automatically. The playlist controls all the hardware required to show the movie, at the right time, on the right equipment, in the right hall with the right content. Though TMS is vital for the running of a cinema, the POSitive TMS Automation module makes it almost entirely self-operating.

Based on projected attendance (aggregated data from individual scheduled sessions in individual cinemas within a chain) the system calculates and then recommends how often an advertisement should be displayed for a given week throughout the chain in order to maximize the number of customers that will see the advertisement, in accordance with contracts with advertisers.

The module operates based on a number of views defined in a contract, as well as additional criteria including which advertisements can/can not be viewed before particular movies along with other specific advertisements, the times of screening, and appropriate length of an advertising session.

The system takes into consideration the expected number of advertisement views and in conjunction with all the above criteria, it independently schedules advertising blocks before individual movie sessions across all cinemas within a chain. The manager can study the schedule and, if need be, modify it and finally approve it.

Data on the content of individual advertising blocks are automatically sent to a TMS, which then controls the way they will be displayed.

After concluding a week, the user receives a report with the actual number of customers that viewed the advert. If it is smaller than predicted, then you may extend its screening period. With the report, information about the advertisement’s reach can be easily provided to the advertiser.

Campaigns also manage off-screen planning, such as advertisements displayed on monitors at the cinema’s café or the stairwell, as well as advertising campaigns such as handing out gifts or product samples by hostesses.

Film Distributors

Easy and Accurate Distributor Rental Settlements and Reporting.


The Film Distributors module allows you to:

The module generates reports based on criteria previously agreed upon with distributors. A standard report contains ticket sales numbers by over a chosen period:

  • Category (e.g. full charge, discounts, family, card owners, etc.)
  • Movie
  • Cinema

Data is categorized by movies and distributors, amongst other data, which provides a clear picture of the value of ticket revenues from movies by a given distributor and over the period of a chosen week.

Automated reports
Reports generated can be automatically sent to a specific distribution list and based on a defined frequency such as once per week.

Easy invoices verification
With the proper report it is easy to check whether invoices from a distributor match the sales figures.

Managing cash flow
The Film Distributors module is also useful for managing cash flow. The module shows you when a distributor’s invoice is scheduled to arrive along with its expected amount. This amount will then be used when planning your future expenses. When the invoice is settled, the reserved amount is cleared by the system. The module is usually connected with a book-keeping system.

Loyalty Schemes And Vouchers (to be DELETED)
